Our Services

Drop-In Center

Individual, Group & Family Therapy

Our Drop-In Center has dedicated trauma-focused therapists who provide individual, group, and family therapy for our clients. All therapists are well-versed in the unique therapeutic needs of the CSEC population and conduct weekly sessions for the youth.

CCSD Adult Education Program

TEP is an approved site for the CCSD Adult Education program, which allows youth who are not able to effectively participate in “regular” high school the opportunity to work at their own pace and graduate with either their high school diploma or high school equivalency certificate (HiSet).

Empowering Classes

TEP offers a range of educational and empowering classes, providing youth with the knowledge necessary to protect themselves from predators, maintain their physical health, discuss issues relating to being a younger person, and increase life skills in different areas.

Material Resources

With the help of generous donations from our supporters, TEP always ensures that youth in our program have access to hygiene items such as shampoo, conditioner, body wash, feminine hygiene products, toothpaste, deodorant, etc. It is important for youth to have access to hygiene supplies to be able to take care of their personal care needs, nurture a healthy self-image, and build confidence.

Sexually Exploited Youth (SEY) Program

Since 2007, The Embracing Project has provided specialized, trauma-informed services to Commercially Sexually Exploited Children (CSEC) and youth victims and survivors of sex trafficking.

Human trafficking and the sexual exploitation of children/youth remains prevalent internationally, nationally, and locally in TEP’s local Las Vegas area. The consequences of this far-reaching trafficking epidemic is the severe mental, physical, and emotional trauma of thousands of children, youth, and adults.

Our Sexually Exploited Youth program provides victims and survivors, aged 12-21, with specialized, trauma-informed services established to aid them on their healing journey.

The Embracing Project utilizes a strength-based approach tailored to meet the individual social, emotional, and developmental needs of each unique youth that enters our program.

Mentoring Programs

Prevention & Mentoring

Prevention & Mentoring at The Embracing Project is the first trauma-informed mentorship program in the broader Las Vegas area. This is a gender-specific and focused program working with girls and LGBTQIA+ teens ages 12-18 that serves under-resourced teens (lacking economic resources, family support, opportunities), and anyone who is looking for a positive role model in their lives to achieve personal, academic, and professional goals. The main goals of the program is to close the gap on disparities, correct negative behaviors, address generational trauma, begin the healing process, and prevent girls from entering or reentering the juvenile justice system.

Girls Circle

Girls Circle is a group mentorship service for participants ages 12-18 who are presenting behavioral problems such as anger, aggression, educational deficit and truancy, poor self-esteem and self-image, poor decision-making, difficulty effectively solving a problem, authority and/or family conflict, criminal and/or negative peers, habitual runaways, impulse control disorder and oppositional defiance disorder; in addition to those experiencing domestic violence in the home.

The Girls Circle curriculum covers goal setting, identifying problem behaviors that are impairing daily functioning, triggers of anger and coping with anger, teen pregnancy prevention, STD prevention and safe sex, positive decision-making, conflict resolution, identifying risky behaviors, positive community engagement, substance abuse prevention, academic excellence and financial literacy, and communication skills. The groups are led by trained facilitators to correct negative behaviors and promote positive improvements in youth’s lives.

Angel Mentoring

Angel mentoring is an intense, one-on-one trauma-informed mentoring service for girls and LGBTQ+ youth ages 12-18 who are identified as survivors of sexual assault, sexual abuse, molestation, intimate partner violence (IPV), and stalking, whose primary goal is to restore recipients to the highest level of functioning through trauma-healing, self-love, empowerment, resiliency, and support. The program is based on strengths and empowerment perspectives, with all mentors trained in a trauma informed approach.

Peer Mentoring

The Peer Mentoring Program allows graduating participants to give back to the community. Once successfully graduated and/or terminated from one of the programs above, participants ages 15+ can become peer mentors in the Girls Circle. Once they meet the requirements and complete the necessary training, they can assist in the group mentoring, motivating and supporting other youths in the program by being positive role models.

Anger Management

Our 10-week Anger Management program is specifically designed for girls aged 12-18. This evidence-based program aims to equip participants with effective anger management skills while incorporating trauma-informed approaches to address underlying emotional wounds. Through a combination of psychoeducation, open discussions, therapeutic activities, and practical exercises, participants will gain valuable insights into their emotions, learn healthy coping strategies, and develop resilience in navigating life’s challenges.
